Although far from the bivouac, the Gazelles didn’t sleep in, preferring to wake up early and leave at the first light of day.
It’s “operation teardown” at the bivouac this morning as the Gazelles prepare to start a so-called marathon leg, over two days and with a night on their own in the middle of the desert.
On this third leg, the dunes left their mark.
This was supposed to be a calmer day to allow the Gazelles to catch their breath... Beyond Erfoud, the teams found themselves on the plateau of El Mraïer, a rather complex playing field.
