After a last day out on the course filled with excitement and emotion, the Gazelles relax and unwind for a lively evening of celebration. Music takes over the bivouac, the teams get together, some Gazelles dance on the tables, form a conga line… “We’re not tired!”, cry the E-Gazelle teams, united by their shared adventure.
Some Gazelles take the opportunity to reflect on this rally unlike any other. “We arrived here with the sole objective of not breaking the car and crossing the finish line. But we ended up learning many things about ourselves”, summarizes Cécile of Team 109 (Anne MARTEL-REISON / Cécile BOURY). “The organization is top-notch, and the Moroccan staff are very attentive”, adds Sylvie of Team 110 (Sylvie PREGEVOLE / Marion DUPLAIN). Although the Gazelles collected their phones and other related objects at the finish line, they prefer to wait a bit before turning them on. “It’s so nice here in our bubble”, they explain.
“Thank you all, you are the warriors of my 30th edition”, congratulates Dominique to thunderous applause. “I think we can say that this 30th edition has been a success”, says Marina before calling up all the different sections of the organization that kept the bivouac running so smoothly. The cooks receive a particularly warm round of applause. “Choukrane”, shout the Gazelles. “The 30th is not the end, it’s just the beginning of the next thirty years”, concludes Dominique. The last teams arrive after nightfall accompanied by a magnificent fireworks display, bringing even more magic to this last evening in the middle of the desert.
